Be the change you wish to see in the world

It is no secret that the cause dearest to my heart is the environment. After all, we can fight all the fights we want, but in the end, if we don’t have a planet to have those fights on, then what are we really talking about?

On my last post, I took you to the Package Free Shop in Williamsburg, where I picked up a few items to continue my journey towards a greener lifestyle. Those subtle changes have worked very well for our family and I am excited, just knowing that I am doing my part, enrolling my husband into doing the same, and teaching my son to care for his planet.

A few days ago, I read that Queen Elizabeth of England has banned all plastic from the Royal Estate and her new waste plan includes phasing out the use of plastic straws in public cafes in the United Kingdom and making all take away containers fully recyclable by 2030 (does it really take that long?!?). Any how, way to go, Liz!!!

Well, since on this side of the pond, it doesn’t look like the big people care much about the environment, folks, it is time to take matters into your own hands. Yes, laws can be passed. And yes, they will take forever to be passed. And we don’t have forever. Not anymore. So how about YOU, ME, US just make the changes, the little changes we can so easily make?

Here is a round up of the daily changes you can adopt starting today:
