An Out Of The Ordinary Sunday

A couple of weekends ago we were graciously invited to one of my son’s former classmate’s 3rd birthday party. Now, NO ONE in their right mind loves to get out of the house on the early side, on a cold Sunday morning to attend a kid’s birthday party. NO ONE! The location made it all better though: a pottery workshop. Kids were given clay to play with and I was dying to get my piece too. Thankfully, it did happen and I made a small, cute, pink vessel that I thought I could use on my night stand to hold my rings.

The place, in our old neighborhood of Bed-Stuy is called Artshack and besides hosting kids parties, they hold adult workshops, classes and you can also pay for time at the wheel. The staff there is lovely!

In the front of the shop, there is also a display of pottery artists’ beautiful pieces.

So whether you just want to relax and play with clay, channel your inner Demi Moore and bring your special someone there for “date night” or take a full on pottery class, this place is sure to deliver!
